Superlike is Giovanni Di Domenico's second solo piano album, after ISASOLO!, out in January 2020 on Italian Canti Magnetici.

Giovanni Di Domenico has now achieved a personal and unmistakable style within contemporary minimalism. His music always expresses a state of concentration, of recollection and contemplation towards a focal point. Repetition is experienced as an alchemic state, as truth contained in the small nuances of change, in a crescendo that never reaches its apex. The atmosphere is intuition and is made up of a few compositional touches. Composing is about synthesis, finding purity, simplicity and exactitude. This new work of his for solo piano is almost an imaginary novel ... the notes seem to tell of deserted streets, lonely walks in the night or races up the stairs. In this sense, the musician is a novelist of silence and the fleeting moment. After all, a good novel is one that describes different and contrasting moods; isn't that precisely what Di Domenico's music evokes? And so, between slow chords between Chopin and Satie, intermediate passages between brio and allegro, more sadness and melancholy can take over, as well as more restless and agitated ostinatos, the product of a more cathartic conception of the world. There will also come a time of lightness, love and carefree playfulness, traces of a story whose ending we will never know.
