Habitus Resonance is Giovanni Di Domenico's latest solo piano composition, developed on the island of Salina, in the Aeolian Archipelago, In Italy.

This artistic interdisciplinary project was promoted by Fondazione Lamberto Puggelli, with the collaboration of Palazzo Marchetti (Malfa), and has been realized thanks to the support of the EMPACT project (Empathy and Sustainability: The Art of Thinking like a Mountain) co-funded by the EU Creative Europe Programme (under Grant Agreement: 101055903 — EMPACT — CREA-CULT-2021-COOP-2).

The purpose behind this collaborative project was to facilitate a dialogue between scientific and artistic research: vulcanologist Marco Viccaro and geologist Gaetano Ortolano, alongside the pianist and composer Giovanni Di Domenico, circumnavigated the island to produce a score to play music which comes from a different perspective of landscape observation and analysis.

The aim was to foster intellectual cooperation between artists and scientists to share their knowledge and practice in order to produce original artworks and performances inspired by environmental Sustainability and Empathy. The outcomes of this encounter were displayed at Palazzo Marchetti on September 30th, 2023. The event took the form of a lecture and a concert.
